Do not leave your TV and other electronics on stand-by mode. The passive use of electricity is a waste. Turn off your electronics straight from the button. You will not only save energy but you will also feel the difference in you energy bill. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Reduce the amount of trash you produce. Most of the stuff that you throw away can be donated and reused by other people. After all, one man's trash is another man's treasure. Reuse what you can. Stay away from plastic bags and plastic containers, and when you get something in a plastic container, use it again to store different items. Reuse jars and other packages as storage containers at home. It's better than recycling them (which uses energy) and buying a new container to do the same thing. Invest in good utensils rather than buying plastic forks and paper plates which you will throw away after one use. Look for 100% recycled paper. This is why we separate our trash, to be able to use it again. Learn about Bio Diesel If you are driving a car and are still dependent on gas it is time to learn about plant derived fuels like Bio Diesel and ethanol. They are alternative and clean fuels which help clean up the planet from the waste oils of fast food and sit in restaurants. Shop according to the packaging. In most cases when we buy a new item we immediately throw away the packaging. Choose items you buy according to its packaging. It is always better to get a product that has little or no packaging. Packaging is a typical example of a precious resource that are being thrown away. |
